About your comment on crossbreeding wolves with Alsatians: I think it´s a bad idea. First, you are interfering with the nature of the wolf - it´s a wild animal and there´s no need to manipulate it in an attempt to domesticate it. Second, your first generation crosses are almost fully genetically wolf - the wolf genes are dominant. Therefore, what you really have for a "pet" is a wolf...although I understand that they can make wonderful companions as long as you can maintain a very thorough pack dominance over them. By the third or fourth generation, provided no new wolves are added to the genetic mix, you´ll probably have something that´s safer to have in your home while still keeping a lot of the wolf´s looks. BTW, the domestic dog who is closest to the wolf genetically isn´t the Alsatian, or the Husky, or the Malamute - it´s the Poodle. LOL!
