The cat face icons are just smiley faces. The one I use most often is a colon with a capital D. Looks like : D but with no space between the two. Any smiley combination you use on this site is turned into a kitty smiley... very cute!!

Hi Pipster. It was good to hear from you.

In fact, any news from warm climate regions, for anyone living in cold climates, is good news, right now. In the last few days, Central Canada has been hit by a powerful snow storm. But don´t worry, I keep myself warm at the library. And with lots of books to read, and TURKEY treats during the Holiday Season, I will survive winter.

After you raised the issue of polydactyl cats, I started reading about it and learned they were also known as "Hemingway Cats" because Ernest Hemingway had many polydactyl cat at home in Key West, Florida.

I learned also that some cat lovers seem to prize polydactyl cats because they are relatively rare.

To tell you the truth, I don´t feel priviledged by this nature anomaly. Having six toes on my front paws tend to be somewhat uncomfortable for me when I walk. And since the additionnal toes seem to be more sensitive, my secretary has to take extra precautions when I allow him to clip my toe nails in general, and the additional ones in particular.

Since I always find the toe nail clipping sessions a little stressful, I make sure to ask for a toe massage afterwards. It feels sooooooooo good!

On my behalf, please give a lots of kisses to Antigone, Bowie, Mitten, Homer and Harrison.

Hi Pipster:

Thanks for the news about the library-book crash event in your Mum´s office. It´s always a dramatic event when it happens here at the library.

What you say about distancing yourself from this "cat-astrophy" reminds me of the movie entitled "The Party", with Peter Sellers. When he´s responsible for a catastrophy of that sort, he disappears instantly from the crime scene and reappears, a mile away, with an innocent expression on his face.

Dear Pipster:

Thanks for the news from Gippsland.

I´m sorry to hear that Harrison had to go to the vet. T´is always a stressing event.

While your mobile library takes a break, you can fly down here, or should I say up here, in geographic terms, for a virtual tour of our small library, since we remain open during the Holiday Season.

We´re having a pot-luck on December 30th for library patrons & friends. So, just hop in. It´s a mighty big hop, one might say, but in the land of the kangaroo and of Crocodile Dundee, nothing is impossible!
