I am a Dental Hygienist.
I feed everything that comes onto my front porch and wants to eat. I leave food there always and in the winter have a heated water bowl, so the little creatures can have fresh water, too.
I have seen some many different cats that come to my house to eat over the years. There are currently 5 that I have seen this year. I don´t know if they are stray, feral, or just like my food better. 
And yes, I get raccoons. Hey, they need to eat, too! And I think they are cute. I had a mother and 3 babies a few years ago, so adorable. I know my neighbors don´t like it much, but I would rather feed them, instead of having them get into the trash.
