Howdy,

We have some great news for you - in order you could find all the interesting pages and topics even better, we improved our search engine. Now it´s possible to group the results, so that all the responses from the forum for example are grouped together. Besides, now you can define, from which sections you would like to search - whether from photos or members only.

The search engine also considers your current location at Unitedcats - for example if you pat some photos and enter a term in the search field, only from the photos will be searched by default

Meow
Happy searching,

Wow - that is brilliant. Very user friendly layout for us non-tech types and so quick and easy to find a cat by name now. Thanks for that. Have to say the UC site is absoltuely fantastic now and seems to be getting better and better.

Excellent upgrade to the search feature! That would have taken some work... well done and thanks!

It is really good. But may I make one suggestion - could the default search be on exactly what one type and introduce a wildcard (like a *) to make the name a part of a word. E.g. when I type Vali I get lots of searches where "Vali" is part of a longer word. If that is what I would like maybe it could be
*Vali*
while when I type just
Vali it would find entries with just that....

Again, though great search engine.

Oh, incidentally, I see that the search function has also been improved for the Photo Competition as well. Now, when you set "Pat" to search competition only photos, you don´t keep getting ones that you´ve already rated - which is wonderful. It saves so much time and frustration. Thanks for that.

So, what I want to know is, how do you get your web programmers and technicians to work so hard? (lol) Because whatever it is you´re doing for them, it´s working. This is another great change - I had found the Search function very frustrating since everything was piled in one big heap, but now that it auto-sorts, I LOVE IT!
