This is the only way we can make a difference by having our voices be heard so please send an email to the address in this message so that we don´t have another pet food recall - with our voices being heard we can help to change the way things are done, please.

Hello Canadians,

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!
I ask that each and every person send at least one e-mail out on this subject.

AND, let everyone you know to do the same, please.

Current events lead us to the inescapable conclusion that the individuals charged with
recommending changes to pet food regulations as demanded by the law passed in Sept. will try very
hard to maintain the status quo. One of these think-tank groups being called upon to make
recommendations to the FDA, is AAFCO.

We need to let them know that we feel the existing regulations and statutes are grossly
inadequate to protect our pets, and that a totally new examination should take place. The existing
regulations need to be strengthened as regards to ingredients being defined and percentages
made clear, labeling made consumer-oriented so that we can make better decisions not limited to,
but including, some form of "Country of Origin Labeling", and the manufacturers need to be
subject to regulations that are less vague, and more enforceable.

One of the Canadian representative in AAFCO is:

Judy Thompson
Feed Evaluation Coordinator
Feed Section
Animal Health Production Division
Canadian Food Inspection Agency

Nepean, Ontario K1A OY9
Canada
Telephone: 613-221-4370
Fax: 613-228-6614
E-mail: jthompson@inspection.gc.ca

Let them know we demand change and improvement.

If we don´t follow through on this, it´s just a matter of time until last year´s tragedy happens again.
