Well Cleo gets free run of dry digestive care food ( so she does not hork up, yeah right, ) And she gets a tablespoon of canned food in the morning, and sometimes she will get a tiny bit in the evening if she hounds me until I can no longer stand to be followed and smacked and argued with she has her way of exacting pain

Giving a mix of wet and dry food is always the healthiest, depending on which brand you get!

well my cats get dry food at lunch and wet food for brekky and dinner and they love it

12.January 2008 13:32

my cat only likes the canned food

My three like both. However Kizzie has just lost 1kg as she was over weight. The vet has said that as cats are meat eaters he suggested we reduce or eliminate the biscuits. It seems to have worked.

i must admit...mistletoe prefers the wet food. she will only eat the dry if it is all that is left.

Zvonek has this routine where he will eat his wet food and then dry food after. He makes his wet last sometimes into the afternoon combining the two.

you are lucky! nothing lasts in this house if there is wet food left...missy eats it...

hi everyone i just started today, so far untiedcats is pretty neat. i feed my cats 1/3cup kibble in the morning, and 1/3cup kibble plus a tablspoon of wet at night. they say its good to feed them wet food, it helps to prevent kidney stones.

I feed candy both tinned and dry biscuits. She likes to have both, even if shes hungry she will ask for biscuits to go with the wet food or felix treats sprinkled on top of tinned food. Some times I have to encourage her to eat, like a child toying with their food. I think shes afraid some will come and take it. Unfortuntately if i have to leave food out for her in the mornings if she does not eat all in time and put it outside, one of the local cats comes and eats it! Hes abit of a bully. I have to make sure shes eaten some food before I go to work the bowl is always empty when I reach home though.

I feed Willow dry but she always askes for wiskas pouches of wet food I give it to her as a treat for she does need to lose a little weight. She loves milk and icecream
I only let her have a lick or two of that.

I´ve been looking for the healthiest option for both my cats, hard since they have very different needs. They are doing very well on Wellness dry food, and they get wet food (wellness) in the evenings.
We are having to feed seperately since the boy, who is still under a year, gained a lot of weight after getting fixed, and he tends to pinch food from our older cat as well, who is in svelte shape.

Because we are in Australia, in the summer I have always fed mostly dry food as wet food goes off so quick. I alternate in the winter, but I serve a small amount of both all year round. Wet food going off in summer is a problem here...especially as I have always had "pick at it and come back later" cats!

My kids get two small meals of wet each day and they always have access to dry. Maybe it´s because of their advanced age, but thankfully they don´t pig out on the dry - just nibble here and there during the day.

I feed my cat twice a day. He gets dry food in the morning, and wet food at night. I dont leave food out for him durning the day as my vet said my cat will think he is controling me and will be able to eat when ever he wants. By giving him enough food for the morning and night, he becomes dependent on me and always lets me know when its time to get feed

tootsie always overeats the dry food we leave out. but we leave it out for the two SMALLER, (non-gluttonous) cats, who don´t hork right after they eat, unlike their big, and i mean BIG sister.

I always mix dry & wet food, cause Jury wouldn´t eat it in different way!

I have just been reading some interesting information about feeding your cat which may be helpful, regardless of the type of foods you choose to feed your feline friends. This bit I find very helpful..............
# Serve cat food at room temperature as the smell encourages the cat to eat
# Avoid feeding large amounts of raw fish and liver, which can harm your cat
# Remove uneaten portions of food and replace with a fresh supply
# Cats like privacy so feed separately to dogs and other cats in a quiet place
# Raw chicken bones can be fed to cats to help keep their teeth clean
# Cats can be fed milk if you wish but best to dilute first
# Specially formulated cat milks are available but are not a complete diet
# Fresh water should be available at all times

Kempton, I do all that anyway, my cats have me trained very well. Especially the remove the uneaten stuff. They REFUSE to eat out of a dirty bowl!! Fussy beggars!

Then again I don´t like eating off dirty dishes either.
