Now I found a Beautiful black that is in my backyard like 24/7 I think she is living there. The cat is the sweetest thing in the world you go out and she rolls on her tummy and waits for you to rub it and she snuggles on your legs when you come out to see he/she. What should I do keep the cat and get the shots or call animal control?

Maybe you could keep it until you can get a family for that beautiful cat... cause I know you will be very sad if you call animal control and never know about this little cat again
I think ít´s better, so you will know that the people who take her at home is kind and nice people.
Or maybe you and your family start to love that little cat and make it a part of your family
Good luck

I think it would be wonderful to keep Black Beauty. However, if you decide you truly cannot keep her I would at least keep her and take care of her until you can find a good home for her! It is a far better thing for her to be in a caring, loving, safe home thank to go to animal control. =shudder= Let us know!!

I´d keep Black Beauty if I was you....Its sounds so friendly and loving!

I think you really should keep this lovely cat! But maybe you should leave some ads if someone is missing this cat.

I was just about to start writing when I saw Skadi´s comment - I agree. This sweet cat sounds like she has had a loving home at some point to be so trusting. You might want to take her description to local pounds and animal shelters in case someone has reported her missing - or call them and do the same. You may even be able to take her in to someone who can scan her (for free) for a microchip. If she has one, the microchip company may be able to contact possible owners. If she has a tattoo in her ear, leave that info with the shelters as well. You could try putting up a few posters with her description around your neighbourhood too (leave off a detail or two so you can ask callers something specific they have to be able to answer). She does sound like a very lovely girl, but it would be hard to think that someone may be missing her for all the reasons you enjoy her so much. If you do end up taking her into your home, you might want to isolate her from your cat until she´s had a vet check and vaccinations.

MichyD gave you excellent advice. I cannot empasize enough the need for you to take Black Beauty to the vet to make sure she has the proper shots before your cat gets exposure to her.

Sami, the London Humane Society or London Animal Care Centre should be able to scan the cat for a microchip at no charge. They would probably take her in for adoption if you can´t find her owner and your family decides not to keep her. There is also an association in London called Backyard Friends that takes in animals for adopion. If your family takes her to a shelter, please ask them to check first to find out which one will keep her the longest. Good luck!!

she has not chip or tattoo in her ear but I have put posters up and I already took her to the vet and she has not had any of her shots and the vet said she does not look like she had a home before. But I am still taking the time to put up posters if no one replies in 1-2 months I am most likely going to keep the Black Beauty.

Best of luck either way. Although, it doesn´t seem like she had very good previous owners if they didn´t get her shots

You seem attached to her anyway. Please post pictures of her if you wind up keeping her

thats how I got lou. he was a beautiful black stray. I dont regret it at all.

You could put an advertisement in the local paper to say that you have found the cat. If nobody claims her, then you may as well look after her as she seems to like you and your home.

That´s how we got our two beautiful ginger girls, Gwen and Josephine. They are the sweetest things in the world! They just showed up in our garden, and no one ever came around to look for them so they stayed. And one day I came home from work and they were in the house, and the rest is history I wouldn´t trade them for the world! Just remember, cats are smart and they KNOW good cat people!!! xxx
