I just want to vent my fustration and say how utterly disgusted I was this afternoon when picking up my Fiance to find 3 little kittens no more than 12 weeks of age running around the street.
My friends neighbours cat had 3 beautiful kittens, but it shocked me to find out that after the cat had had the kittens both the mum and babies have been put outside, both day and night. Coming into the colder months this is the most irresponisble thing a pet owner could do.
Now I have rang the RSPCA and they say there is nothing they can do, as long as the kittens are well fed. And of course I am not allowed to take them as they are someones pet. ..............words changed by admin.. excuse my cursing...
2 of the kittens do not have tails. They look like they have been removed as 1 kitten has a full length tail. These kittens dont seem to get any other source of food except that of their mothers milk...
How can the RSPCA stand by and let this happen??? No kitten that young should be out on the streets day or night... there is no excuse!!!
I have begged and begged my fiance to let me take one but to no avail... I hate standing by and not doing anything to give these cute little kitty´s and mum a better home and life....
Ive vented now thanx for listening everyone, it makes me so angry..

let´s hope that one of the dads of those kitties is a Manx and that´s the reason they don´t have tails. I agree you should kidnap them |

I agree with Darcyd. I have been known to take the odd animal in off the street if it looks to be in bad shape. |

CatNap!!! Or at least speak to the owner if you feel like you can. Maybe the owner will be happy for you to Capnap them. Seems to me they don´t want the cat&kittens. As for RSPCA - don´t talk too much to me about them. Here they have a rule that a cat has to be sranded over 24 hours (what ever the hight) before they come out to rescue. Most cats would fall by then. I support the smaller cat rescue centres, those that still care. |

I agree with everyone else. Steal them away. If you go at night time when nobody can see you you can´t get into trouble. If you can´t keep yourself them maybe you take them to the CatHaven or somewhere of the like where they can find homes and someone to love and care for them properly. |

Thankyou everyone... I have reached the decision that later tonight (probably midnight or just after) a friend and I are going around there to take the kittehs... its really cold here tonight and I cant bare the fact of knowing the small kitties are on the street... I will keep you posted |

Ok 1) if you "take" them DO NOT tell the vet. By law they CANNOT consult on an animal without the legal owners permission. You "found" them. Otherwise by law the vet will have to turn you away, report to the police and not see the kittens. |

If the RSPCA took them in they´d euthanise them. I donate to many animal charities but not the RSPCA. |

RSPCA in OZ isn´t quite that bad. They do get 12 weeks to find a home first. |

I know that if you live in NSW there is a place called the cat protection society. |

I doubt if the owners would really care what happens to them and right now they are at risk of being run over or taken by creeps etc, I think you are doing the right thing taking them - I would do the exact same thing myself and to hell with the legalities. Some people should not be allowed to have animals and until the Law recognises animals as living, sentient beings and not possessions, they will continue to treat "ownership" as more important than the animal´s welfare. |

I do agree Pipster, but if you go about it wrong you will end up in court and the kittens back where they started from. If you follow some care and know what NOT to say you should be ok. |

I´m with those who voted for kidnapping the mom and the kittens. After you do that, keep them in the house so the old owner won´t see them and cause trouble. And definitely do NOT tell the vet you kidnapped them - just say you found them in your garden and haven´t been able to locate the owner! |
