I love July 4! But my cat Duckie doesnt!! The booming is hurting her ears!! I have tryed to put here in a room where you cant hear alot of it, but it doesnt seem to work!!! Help Please!! What should I do?! Need Help as soon as possible!!!!!!!!! Please!!!

I´ve heard that classic music and a dark room helps them to relax... plus music would cover a little bit the outside noise! (Desmond is freaked out too)

Mugger, by now, is cowering in the closet, probably pooping on the floor.

Fortunately, big fireworks don´t last that long - the best thing to do for a frightened cat is to hold and console him, maybe put youself between him and the sound of the fireworks.

Put your cat in the basement, if you have one, and put towels at the bottoms of the doors, to keep out the noise. Close all the curtains, windows, and doors.

Beau went into hiding as well, but now that they are over here, he´s going through his crazies. Beau likes to hide in a closet. It´s dark, quiet, and enclosed...maybe you can find a special, quiet hiding place for Duckie...not just for tonight but for other times when there might be fireworks or thunderstorms.

We have a similar problem is South Africa, whenever Diwali comes, and all the Hindus set off millions of fireworks. I don´t mind the ones that look flashy and colourful, it´s the stupid noisy ones I hate. I call them ´Bangers´, and they terrify the animals in my complex. Bangers are supposed to be illegal here, but the laws aren´t enforced strictly, so there are always loads of Bangers going off, frightening animals, every Diwali. You´re lucky that you live in America. Write to your senators, asking for laws which ban Bangers, and stricter enforcement of existing laws. There ARE fireworks out there which are pretty without being very noisy.

awww you guys and your poor kitties... My 3 cats and my dog could all care less lol Even Toma the little guy is running around like his normal self. I use to have a dog who was scared to death of fireworks or ANYTHINg that made loud noise like that. It´s sad to see them upset like that... awww

Muddy, those banger types are illegal where I live as well but it doesn´t stop people... if there is a will there is a way and people get them.... We hear it every year from people and even though it´s illegal it doesn´t matter.
