Recently he has lost a lot of weight, drank too much, his fur started falling. His vet said that´s because of his old age (he is more than 17) and nothing can be done, but he almost stopped eating. So 2 days ago I went to another vet and the blood tests showed that Bonny has renal insufficiency. Yesterday he got IV and some injections. The vet said that he should get IVs all his life and eat special food. The vet will see how he is reacting to the treatment and then it´ll be clear what to do. The most important thing for him is to eat( as the vet said). Today he ate special food Renal Royal Canine a little. In the evening I´m taking him to the vet again for the IV and a check-up.
I´m so much afraid because he is an old kitty.

Oh it´s so hard when fury babies age I had Misty 21 yrs and she had kidney trouble has the vet spoke of anti biontics to keep infections down Misty had them for aprox 2 yrs,
If getting babies to eat is a problem try mashing wet food with a little water and syringing into mouth slowly I find this is quiet effective and do the same with water but not too cold.
I realy do know how you are feeling it´s so bloomin hard but you can only do so much and remember a cubble won´t cure but my goodness it will help both of you so enjoy every moment, Misty had kidney probs for about 3yrs all told so keep looking at the light in the tunnel that is still bright

All the best

Shahorik, I wish you all the best in this, but don´t give up on your feline friend. With proper care they can still keep going even with renal insufficiency for quite some time. Wishing you all the best.

Hope Bonny feels better soon.

it sounds like the food and the treatments will help him. The others that have pointed out that cats can live along time with renal insufficiency are right. I´m sure he still has time with you and will be glad for all your loving care.

Thank you for your support! Bonny eats his special food and gets infusions of liquids every day. The vet said that I´d have to learn to give infusions myself because it must be done 2 a day all his life. Until Friday they´ll do it at the vet clinic and from Saturday I´ll have to do it myself.I hope I´ll be able to manage.
Again a lot of thanks for your caring for Bonny!

I´m sure you´ll be fine. After you´ve done it a few times, it will become second nature. Good luck!

Oh that must be difficult. Hope you will get the hang of it and Bonny is feeling better.
