I could be wrong but aren´t the pat the cat buttons supposed to reset? I have been trying to pat my own cats and some of the others but the thanks for patting icon is still there even after several days!!

no...the pats do NOT reset. once you pat a cat. that is it ebigum---did someone tell you different?
