Thank you, zuzlik, for posting the Rules for Clubs. The Rules are very helpful!!

Note to users: At present there are no club mods, so clubs will be accepted or deleted by Admin only.

Is the owner of the club expected to be the Mod of that specific club? It sounds like it per #13 above. Will other Mods be moderating the clubs? I think it would really upset the nature of the club if other Mods stepped in and began removing threads, etc. We would be right back to being a regular Forum if that happened. If an owner is NOT maintaing proper decorum in their Club, then I think that the owner should be dealt with. Any owners not following the guidelines of UC should be at risk of losing their club.

I have made it clear in my Club that all comments, questions, etc. must fall within the guidelines of UC. I do understand that owning a Club does NOT mean that you own your own site. Therefore, it is important that the integrity of the UC site be maintained.

The advantage of belonging to a club is that you have the opportunity to narrow down your choices to discuss topics with those who have similar interests. I have found that in my United Cats for Dummies Club (which is not an infringement on the trademark name since it operates within the United Cats website and is intended for use ONLY within the United Cats website) that Members feel a little more at ease in discussing their inability to use certain functions of the United Cats website.

I wanted to create something that could be fun while learning. And, we are ALL learning ...especially after all the changes that were made to the UC website. And, we are having a lot of fun while doing it!!!

It was a great idea to set up the Clubs and I have heard that some old members are now returning. I hope that it was because of the introduction of the Clubs! It certainly will help to keep a lot more members more active than they were in the past.

I know that some members just don´t like to post in the Forums, but I am encouraging to post on Dummies. After all, everyone must have at least one question about something.

I have added my own rule. No complaining in the Dummies Club. If a Member has a complaint, it should be posted in the regular Forums or addressed to a Mod or the Admin.

Congratulations UC on another great idea!!

PS...I am going to copy the rules into my Dummies Club so that everyone understands.

I personally would like to thank the members who came up with the idea of clubs in order to attract new people to join up. The positive thread opened to discuss ways to improve the site attracted a lot of interest, and showed how enthusiastic the UC members are about their community.

The owners of the site do well to listen to what the members have to say....After all, they ARE the UC community - without these people, the site would be nothing more than code in cyberspace.

Well done members - and I think the owners have done well by listening. The site REALLY needed more areas of interaction, not just more gifts and skins to buy.

Next, and probably the most important thing... the navigation of the site needs some serious work. Not bandaids - major surgery, otherwise the site will implode with the growth, and will become a slow and frustrating.

The time to do this is soon! The members have spent their valuable time and efforts making constructive suggestions. I hope the developers listen and act.

An extra note - if, at any stage the site is going to be down again, for an hour or a day, PLEASE let the members know in advance. It will save a lot of confusion, and everyone will be more tolerant with the learning curve if they have been included in the process.

I am taking the time to welcome each and every new member to the Dummies Club. In doing so, I hope that people feel that they really belong.

It would be nice if all Club members did the same. It is just a courtesy to new members and hopefully will encourage them to be more interactive.

It would also be nice if UC welcomed new members and gave them hints on posting pictures, navigating the site and links to all the clubs. What a kind gesture that would be! It isn´t a lot of work...it can be done automatically as each new member signs up...with an autorespond message.

Keep up the great work UC!

I would like to send out a "form" letter in catmail to all of the Members of the Dummies club to update them on current discussions. But, how can I do that without it looking like spam?

2.June 2008 03:44

Katperson if you are sending a form letter to their catmail concerning your club then I don´t see how it could be perceived as "spam". How is that any different from UC sending us catmail about the current update to the site?

2.June 2008 03:49

saucykats....I don´t know but when I send the identical email out to more than one user, they either don´t get it at all or cannot respond to it.

2.June 2008 03:54

I translated the rules to spanish and put them in my club for spanish speaking users!

2.June 2008 04:10

Thanks for letting us know all the rules,
You have all done such a great job with the UC site!!!!

2.June 2008 04:38

Thanks for posting the club rules so everyone will be aware of them. I love the clubs and think this is a great addition to the site!! As always, admin and the mods here are the greatest!!

2.June 2008 05:23

Thank you so much for the club application!
In the Spanish version many users are happy with the club "Kitties in Heaven" ("Gatitos en el cielo" for the Spanish), where they found a place to speak and to burden oneself about the delicate issue of death.
Although we can comment and talk about this topic in the Forum, people needs a proper place where to do it.
And as KatPerson, I´m also trying to give a personal welcome to every new member in the club. But this wouldnt be possible without you (the Admin and mods team) listening to our suggestions and opinions!Thank you again!

4.June 2008 19:53

hi, i´ve been saving my points and DYING to create a club for odd-eyed cats. i finally created one just now, and was just wondering how long it takes for the club to be accepted?

4.June 2008 20:16 | changed 4.June 2008 16:16

Hi, NikkiRae!! The time to have a club approved varies from some hours to a day, or maybe even two days depending on a number of factors. Please be patient. If there´s any problem, Admin will be in touch with you and if for any reason your club is not approved, your points will be refunded.

4.June 2008 20:32

ok thank u very much!
