Hiya everybody!
Welcome to a new thread!
I´m just curious about if white cats should wear sun block or not? I´ve seen cats getting earcancer because of non protected pink ears. Still here in sweden you can´t get hold of sunblock for animals. As I´m asking around no one seem to know anything about it. Someone suggested to use sunblock for babies but is that really safe?

Does anybody know?

Hi! About that toppic - yes, white cats are endangered. thay need to be treated against the ultra-violet rays. their ears are extremely sensitive and they need SPF 50. you can use it on the ears - no problem.(i heard it from a vet). just don´t put too much of it
Best regards!

Bought SPF 50 for babies it´s not popular when put on but I guess it feels nice right afterwards coz he doesn´t lick it off.

I´ve heard it is essential, though I was never able to pin Luna down for long enough to try it. As she died from coyotes and not skin cancer, I guess we were lucky.

I´ve heard that human SPF is fine. I´ve heard that their pink noses are susceptible too, but that is more difficult, since they lick them frequently.

I suppose you could use a zinc based formula (like what the cricketers wear) and you could get it in white so that it will blend right in.

You´re totally right about the nose. But as far as i know their ears are more essential. The truth is that you just shouldn´t let your white cat stay on the sun for too long - 20 to 30 min per day are ok.

My cat Cleo she has a pink tummy there is no chance of rubbing sunblock on that spot unless you want scars.

LOL Starfish. KEEP LUNA INSIDE? How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?Hey JanCarol....maybe for me it´s easier coz i live in a five storage building (on the fifth flour) and my cat goes out rarely. You´re right it´s hard to keep somebody inside so the solutiuon for you maybe is just to put sunblock on your cats´ ears
