As you all know, our little buddy Kittibits aka Dr. B. Dundee is very, very ill. Kittibits and his Mom, darcyd has been an inspiration to us all.

Please take a moment to send a prayer for Kittibits and his Mom, offering them strength at this very difficult time.

We know that Treat has been waiting at the Rainbow Bridge to greet Kittibits in addition to hundreds of other kitties who have recently crossed. But, we do hope and pray that Kittibits will be with us for a little while longer. However it is now in God’s hands.

I will let the power of Buddhism speak comforting words to Bits and Bits Mom for Betsey and myself I have no words of my own except to say that I am saddened by the illness of Bitts. He is such a lovely cat and he is a much loved cat as well. I offer a healing prayer for him; words that will soothe comfort and sustain the love all of us have for him for just a little while longer.

A Healing Prayer.

I am praying for Kittibits and hope he passes quietly and safely and that Treat is there too. Puss is there, Rupert, Cleo, Sooty, Timmy and lots of other lovely cats that we could mention.

Here is a little prayer for Kitibits that I hope will remind his Mum of Ireland.

It´s an Irish verse you may know. I´ve made a few changes.

I said to the cat

A Cat´s Prayer to Bast

As I lay me down to sleep
I pray to Bast my soul to keep,
I pray to Bast my soul to take,
And transport it to the sandy lands
Where my forbears worshipped were,
Where my ancient kin were much revered
And where the cat first learned to purr.

As I pad on velvet feet
I pray Bast will give me mice to eat,
And as I use my litter tray
I ask that she will find me play,
In her bright heaven where all cats,
Are stroked by Bast´s most blessed hands,
And bask and gambol in her care,
Remembering Egypt´s ancient sands.

I pray that if God has decided that it´s Kittibits´s time, that He give Kittibits the ultimate gift of a peaceful passing, and that He give Ann the peace of knowing she did everything she could, and that she was loved, that Kittibits´s love for her will not end with his death but will continue to flow from his spirit.

I think we should should now pray that Kittibits speeds towards the Rainbow Bridge as his time does seem to have come and I thank God that he has been given dignity and love in his passing. We don´t want him to go but we don´t want him to be scared of going either.

When Nikki died of cancer on the day I buried her I played this song. I know it´s about human love but for me there will always be songs that can somehow be related to situations that happen and cause us pain in life. Let us all join our hearts and souls in prayer, thanking God by whatever name we choose for the joy that is Kittibits´s life, for the peace that is his passing, and for the sorrow that is his loss to us. We have all been blessed to know this grand old cat.
