Mom and I are Christians, and we believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, that He came, died for our sins so that we might live, and was resurrected on the third day. We believe that God made made the heavens and earth. Mom goes to a church to worship God.

What faith are you and what do you believe? How do you worship God??

Well, I´m just a young kitta and I don´t want to be disrepectful, but I think, for a kitta, God speaks through your ancestors. Even though Squeak and Chookums are gone, they still affect the space I live in, and they still live in Mom and Dad (respectively). I think that God gave us nature to teach us the Laws. If I stalk a dragon and pounce on it, I may have to pay a price. If I go up a tree, I must come down. I believe in the power of prayer, and pray a lot that nothing will change too much. Piper

My Mum is baptised as Church Of England, but we don´t belong or follow a specific religion. We do believe in more than just earth and the living being. We believe in souls, spirits, good, evil and faith. We also believe and respect that everyone has the right to follow what religion or faith they choose.

We don´t really believe in a god, but a greater spirit, or spirits. Like the spirit of the earth, the sun, humans, animals, air etc etc etc. We worship by being open to all and never turning people away simply for believing in something, or something different to us. I know some might find it wishy washy, but that is what we believe and how we live our lives.

My Mom is trying to be a Christian - She was raised as something called a "Cat-lick" which sounds pretty good to me, but now She´s trying to learn more about it all. As a cat, I don´t understand what this word "God" means, but even as a cat I know there´s something MUCH MUCH MUCH bigger than me and Her and all of us put together.

Prayer works. There were 3 times in my life that I remember Mom´s prayers, but that was long before she could have a prayer group with United Cats.

One was the night I died, she and a friend prayed that I crossed the Rainbow Bridge in peace and love, for I was old and sick and in pain. That prayer came true, as she was going to put me to sleep the next day, but I went on my own, in her arms, with great relief.

One was the time Bonker ate a nylon rope - like a boat rope. It was a toy in the house, we played with it all the time, but Bonker didn´t understand, and ate it. It frayed as it got to his intestines, and became a stiff nylon brush there, which perforated his intestines in several places. He was very very sick, and had to have 2 surgeries. Mom went to visit him every day, and prayed for him constantly, through infection, IV´s and surgery. She told the Goddess that if She would bring Bonker to health, he would be fed Iams or better all his days. And even though Bonker had to go through a lot, I benefitted, because I got Iams or Science Diet after that.

Another time she prayed was about me. She went to Florida with Bonker´s new Mom, and I was left with ex-Dad, who worked 70 hours a week and didn´t pay close attention to things like Mom. Well, this was in January, and it was a cold January at that, when I slipped out the door. I had been missing for 5 days when Mom got back from Florida. Boy was she MAD at ex-Dad! I was her kitty!

Dad just kind of shrugged. Momma started praying. Please let Squeak be safe, please bring her home, please don´t let her be lost or in the PCB creek/woods, please don´t let a skunk or dog or white-trash child get ahold of her. Please bring her home.

It was a week later when she was getting ready to feed Grendel, and she asked him to sing, like she always did at dinnertime. Well he sang, and then she heard another "Meow" after he was done! OMG! She asked him to sing again, and she heard the extra "Meow" again! OMG! I was under the house, where I could keep a little warm and dry in the snow and cold winter.

She made ex-Dad crawl under the house to get me (it´s the least he could do - I had never been outside since I was a kitten!), and sure enough, there I was, hungry and dehydrated but fine! I often wonder if this was the incident which contributed to my failing kidneys later in life, as I didn´t eat for 2 weeks, and could only lick at puddles or snow that I found for water.

So my faith is this: Prayer works. Sacrifice works. Love one another.

My mom says she is a Buddhist...I think I am too.

Embracing the Way, you become embraced;

Breathing gently, you become newborn;
Clearing your mind, you become clear;
Nurturing your children, you become impartial;
Opening your heart, you become accepted;
Accepting the world, you embrace the Way.

Bearing and nurturing,
Creating but not owning,
Giving without demanding,
This is harmony.

Hmmm....our mum is weired. She was raised as a cat-holic, then she did what she calls "return" to Judaism. Our grandad went and became budhist and grandma is and always was a Russian Orthodox. We like Budhists, cause they are supposed to be vegeterians and not kill animals. But you want to know what we are, Vitia and I.

Well, we have a very ancient believe, that most non-cats can´t quite understand, so we have never told our mum. Although she keeps asking. But she mainly believes that people should be good to everything that lives and practice what they preach and "live and let live". Ofcourse, we can´t quite do that because we like to hunt and to eat meat. And our "religion" allows us to do that. We pray in our own way and we meditate as well - a lot.

Mommi and myself are Christians. But mommi also follows in her native american ways. She´s half native American and Mexican. Her mom family are from The Bear clan of the Arizona Pasqua Yaqui. We worship Mother Earth and all that she has given us. We are taught not to waste and respect what our mother has given us trees, plants, animals, etc. also we are taught to seek out our "guides" and speak with our ancestors for advice and guidance in life. We also pray to Jesus Christ and all his angels. Mommi and myself believe in angels. That´s what i guess you call our religion.

Mom and Dad are Christians. Like you Beau we believe in God the Father all mighty, creator of heaven and Earth, we believe in Jesus Christ and to the Holy Spirit... I was raised by a priest and I spend the childhood in convent! So all of my babies (Harim, Bodjing & Ashley) are Christians. I raised them that way. Basketcha

I am posting here to put this back where it can be seen again. I encourage everyone to talk about your faith, in a supportive, open environment. Hopefully dialogue about how we worship God, whether Christian, Jew, Buddhist, etc., we can learn from one another, and hopefully bring a unity here that the world as a whole has trouble achieving. (It has to start somewhere! Why not us??!!)

REMINDER: Tolerance and acceptance is a must in this club. You can express your faith and disagree with others without condemning and or putting others down. This is a place to come together as one, sharing our beliefs.
