Hi Mietz...this is a great idea for a club! Apart from showing support to all the fabulous kitties with handicaps, I send a big shout out to all the wonderful owners of such kitties who put so much love and care into their lives. My Sophie is healthy as an ox (apart from chronic crabbiness) but I sometimes foster kitties with ongoing health complaints.
Here´s my dilemma. I´m fostering a lovely 5 month old kitten named Star who came to the shelter in August with severe upper respiratory and eye infections. She´s been treated with every drug under the sun since then and in the month I´ve had her she´s improved greatly. But her breathing is still obstructed. The vet thinks her sinuses may have been permanently damaged by the viruses. She may always have congested breathing and be susceptible to infections. The shelter is concerned that such a cat may be unadoptable and they may choose to put her down. I´d like to find someone who has owned a cat
with similar problems and learn what they´ve down to improve their cats life. I will do everything I can to keep her from being destroyed and it would help to have practical advice from owners with experience.
