I am interested to know if all Birmans have similar characters.
Viz is very laid back, loves to mix with other animals, behaves more like a dog as he is very loyal, patient, kind and very gentle. In return he just wants love and attention, which he gets plenty of.
I couldn´t ask for more in a cat, he is perfect!

Bonny is very friendly, loves to be patted by people. He is very kind and gentle. He appeared before my other cats and dogs and quickly made friends with them. But sometimes he prefers to be by himself.

My Buddha is also a very loving cat! He loves everybody; me but also every visitor (known or unknown). He gives very hard headbuds and is purring like crazy most of the time
He also likes my non-breed girl Roos. He gives her headbuds as well and almost pushes her over hahaha. But they love eachother and he will never hurt her.

What are your birman´s eating behaviour? My Buddha is like a piggy (hihi). He like everything and it´s never enough!

Now that Bonny is 17, he is very selective in his food . Now he eats only Fancy feast and sometimes a little sausage. But his favorite food is yoghurt. In general, he eats very little.

Viz eats a lot but mainly the same thing. He will not eat tinned foods or fresh meat. He prefers the hard, biscuit variety. Iams or Purina are his favourites either salmon, ocean fish or chicken flavour. His weight is average for a Birman so I feed him 3 times a day (I know its usual for twice a day, but I cant stand him meowing for more food, I always give in to those beautiful blue eyes lol!).

China is shy and reserved, except with me or when on the hunt. When she wants affection she gets right up in my neck and passionately makes biscuits on my neck, drools and makes a low purrish type of sound which gets more intense as she gets into it. Pure Passion. She gets insulted when she wants me and someone ´else´ is on my lap. She raises her head and turns around, the classic rebuff. "Well, then, never mind".
She´s a very talented huntress. She loves chicken...kibbles, canned or fresh cooked, nothing else will do. When she runs out of the kibbles she gets insulted and snubs my husband does the ´I don´t see you, I don´t hear you´ routine.
She really is very very sweet with her very sweet face, clear blue eyes and her sweet china bell like voice.

I´d say that both of my Birmans have/had similiar characters: proud, aloof, demanding, shy of strangers. They love/loved to be patted but only by me and only when they choose, mostly in the evenings. Ignoring their own room, they always sleep/slept with me.
Impossible to feed, very picky. They like to have a well regular life and appear/ed before their food bowls exactly at the same time every day demanding their breakfast or dinner. Drinking only in the bathroom. Rangoon does it sometimes from the dog´s bowl.

Bonny also demands his favorite yoghurt exactly at the same time and he drinks water only from the dog´s bowl.

Snowy is very friendly en gentle.
He makes friends easely among the cats, but is very carefull with strange people.
He doesn´t like to show himself.
For me, he is the perfect cat. He loves to lay on his back in my arms and give me head butts all the time. He also likes to sleep on my chest when I go to bed.
He likes to have his food always on the same time, in the morning and in the evening.

Floppy is very lazy... he often sleeps, especially when no one is at home, but when we arrive he come to the door meowing
He eats not much, he only likes tuna-fish and salmon crispies.
He don´t likes to stay in my arms or on my knees, but he loves to sleep on my feet!
When he gets angry he don´t scratchs but he bites!!!
When he wants food he meows in a strange way... it seems like a sheep..."meehehehehehee.."

My Skittles was so loving, but only to family. She was pleasant but reserved around strangers. Except her nurses, she loved her nurses and she developed a very strong bond with her vet. Oh, and my nurses. She would show off like mad for them.

She adored giving kisses (headbutt) and showing off her "Speak" trick. Not a night went by where she wasn´t curled up with me. Whenever my husband and I huggged, we had to pick her up and cuddle her in the middle. When I was at my desk studying, she HAD to be up there. She loved being carried around, so much so that I got one of those dog carrying papoose pouches for her. She would snuggle up in there and puuuuurrrrrr.
