About me

My person adopted me as a kitten from the SPCA in Auckland and we had a wonderful life together for twelve and a half years. I was her only cat so I was very spoiled. I had a nice garden to play in and I used to love cuddling up on my person´s lap. One day I stopped eating and my tummy seemed quite bloated. We went to the vet and then somewhere else for some horrible tests. I had cancer in my stomache. My person took me home for a few days and then the vet came to my house and, while I was happily sitting on my person´s lap, he put me to sleep. My person was very sad and misses me a lot.

We lost Grendel to this. He used to be companion to Squeak. It was a hard way to go, but Grendel was good and told me when it hurt too much and asked for my help. It made it easier to see him go. So different from when a human gets something like that. He had no pain killers, only a special high density nutrition paste. I haven´t put Grendel in here because it was so long ago.

I have tears in my eyes after reading that. One of my cats, Gingerello, died in my arms at the age of 13. I cried for 2 weeks solid. He was looking into my eyes when he died. That was on 5th February, 1999 at 8:15am. I will never forget that day.
