Well I suppose I should MODESTLY claim myself to be a hero. NO it is true I SAVED another animals life after all!
It was SO WINDY overnight....blustery and LOUD and POOR Mummy had a cough too, so she slept on the couch so as not to wake "The blob".
This morning everyone got up, had brekky and whilst the dishes were being done, I jumped on the windowsill as I do each morning, and looked at the world. AND THERE SHE WAS! Duckling, ("The kids named her!" says Mum) the PET DUCK was LOOSE in the front yard...and wandering VERY close to the Road. Mummy thinks she got blown clean out of her enclosure as her wings are "Clipped" to stop this happening. BUT as I said it was just SO WINDY.
POOR DUCKLING! I started to meow and paw at the window...I wanted to get down there and protect her from the road...I am a SUPA HERO after all...but before I could change into "SUPA TEGAN" and teleport there...Mummy saw what I was looking at! Suddenly there was a flurry of pyjamas, slippers being changed for boots and battle plans being discussed. It didn´t help that Daddy is away for the weekend and they were short one person. So Mummy, "Tank boy" and "Missy Moo" all had to cope alone.
They surrounded Duckling and tried to chase her back...but she BOLTED and fled under the caravan....Mummy tried to reach her but couldn´t fit into the small spot Duckling had squashed into ("They should ban chocolate!" says Mummy) ...but "Tank boy" went under first and then tiny little "Missy Moo" went further and suddenly Duckling burst out with wild quacking and a flurry of feathers!
They chased her down the paddock all shouting (Mummy kept shouting for "Tank boy" and "Missy moo" to STOP for a sec, so Duckling might slow down...but both kids were so excited nothing would stop them chasing Duckling.,.it was funny to watch from the window!) and FINALLY "Tank boy" made a DIVE and caught Duckling by the tail!
Mummy took Duckling back to her enclosure and checked for any breaches...but there were none...so the wind idea is a sound one I think.
PHEW! A few more metres and we would have had DUCK BURGERS!
Another animal saved thanks to the incredible "SUPA TEGAN"
