About me
Well, Where do I start my story?
I once lived with a family that had to move to another town. When they were packing up the house, the last thing they thought of was what it was going to do to the cat - ME. I got very freightened and confused to see my house being emptied. I went to hide outside. My people couldn´t find me and left without me. They can back a couple of times over the next weeks to try to catch me and take me with them, but they wrecked my house and home, so I didn´t trust them anymore. Luckily I got to know a lot of people on my street and they gave me food. One year went into another and I stayed outside in all weather. Then one day, a human moved into the big blue/grey house on the other street. That yard ended near the shred that I slept under in the Winter. When she was in the yard in the Spring Summer and Fall, I would lie a few feet away from her and she would talk to me and tell me how handsome I was. She never tried to catch me. We had an understanding. She called me Solo because I was always alone (she didn´t know then about all of my girlfriends and babies on my street).
There came a day when she had to move and I couldn´t go with her. She would come to leave food for me in a little patch of woods next door tio the house where she used to live. It was a good arragement. Little did she know at that time that most of the rest of the people on the block were feeding me too.
One day in the Winter I was crossing the street during the day. The human saw me and was not sure it was me. I had changed. I wasn´t taking care of myself and my brilliant white chest was brown with dirt. She felt terrible, but what could she do? Then a couple of months later, she saw me walking across a lawn going toward Joan´s place. She called my name - Solo, because again she was not sure it was me. I looked really bad.
So the human came up with a plan to trap me and take me to a doctor. She replaced the feeding station with a trap disguised as a feeding station.
She put it out at 10 pm one night, and when I was walking by, I smelled the food and went right in.
TRAPPED!!! OH, NO!!! I tried to get out, I tried to chew the wire, but that was it. I was trapped.
The human had planned to leave the trap out for 12 hours that day. There was the chance that a skunk or raccoon could end up in the trap. They know how delicious cat food is.
She found me there at 10 am. BOY! WAS I MAD. Yes, MAD. Angry does not even come close to what I was feeling. TBC
What makes me special
My story came full circle. I was left behind by people who moved. Actually I was very frieghtened because I didn´t understand what was happening and wouldn´t go near my people so they could catch me and take me with them. I didn´t want to leave my ´hood´. I was an intack male and knew all the girls on at least 2 streets. I was the big man on the block.
I was outside for about 3 years. I got to know the human because she would leave food outside her house for me. Little did she know at the time that the whole neighbourhood was also feeding me.
This was in the same place where Calvin was born. I used to hang out with her while she did some gardening. She talked to me and made me feel very special.
