About me

My name is Sarah Bernhardt. In one of my past lives, I was an actress. I seeked political asylum in a community library in 1996, after my original owners bought an anti-cat dog who terrorized me. Ever since, I have been the library cat in residence.

What makes me special

I like to bring joy to library patrons and volunteers. My favorite pet was Fala, FDR´s little dog, whose memory I cherish and whose legacy is still a source of inspiration.

When I had a business repairing typewriters, some years ago, I had two shop kittehs and they were named Hunt and Peck.

The four freedoms for cats is a great idea. Freedom from fear of stupid dogs could be one.

Thank you, Sarah. It´s cold in the Alps, but no snow - only high in the mountains, I can see it from my windows. At least the air is clear and the skies are so blue - Mont Blanc looks like a cheap fake!
Hope, you keep yourself warm on some library shelf.

It´s good to see that Sarah isn´t the brainless floozie present day "actresses" appear to be, but a girl with a like for the paper works. Nice one!

Music / yes. I tried to make once a list of titles I´ve got myself or read about. I can begin with classical music:
1.G.Rossini "Duetto buffo di duo gatti" sung by Monserrat Caballe and her daughter
2.S.Profkofiev " Peter and the wolft", there is a Cat represented by a clarinet
3. W.A.Mozart" Eine kleine Nachmusik" - there is no official cat in it, but in my childchood I listened to it and named this piece "The Cat and the mouse" - just listne to it, you´ll distigiush cats paws running
4.F.Chopin Vals Op,34 No3 F ]Valse brillant} -legend has it, that it was inspired by a playing cat
5.Domenico Scarlatti "Le Fugue du Chat" ]one of the 30 Exerciees} - legend has it, that it was not the composer himself but his cat who created the music
6.M.Ravel, libretto by Colette, Opera "L´Enfant et les sortileges"]English title different} - love duet of a black and a white cat
7.P.Czajkowski "Sleeping Beuaty" - in 3 Act pas-de-deux of the Puss in Boots and the White Cat
8 S..Moniuszko a Polish composer from 18th century,
registered in France by Teresa Zylis-Gara his songs. One of them is entilted "The Cat"
Otherwise i´ve got further lists, not much of the titles are in English, since I´ve got other sources
What do you think. Should we proceed?
