There are 2 versions, the truth has been lost in the past (ie. my owners have a bad memory)
1) I ran away for a week (this actually happened and I scared my mommy so much) During that time I was either kicked in the face, or something hit me in the face. I returned home with a broken nose.
2) I ran away for a week. One night while mom was gone, my sisters were being babysitted (they were only about 10) There was a loud noise in my mommy´s room and I came out dripping blood from my nose.
***Ok, I (mirrortwin2) was one of the 10 year old sisters...I swear that version 2 was what really happened and version 1 was a joke my brother Mike made up because I was sitting on the couch and we saw Patches first, we rushed her into the kichen and we were all screaming and crying and trying to call my mom and the vets. Anyway back to Patches telling the story. ***
Ok well anyway it happend...I went to a vets and they kept me for a week, they basically did nothing. My nose was broken and I now snorted when I breathed. My mom couldn´t afford the surgury that might have helped me. I could barely eat canned food so I was force fed through a syringe (cat milk) for 3 years. During those 3 years my parents tried to make my life as comfortable as possible. After 3 years of snorting and struggling for each breath, not being able to clean myself and declining in health, I gave up. I wouldn´t move...it was so sad, my mom cried and cried and cried. I was still alive but had given up...soon after I was taken to the vets where I was peacefully put to sleep in Mommy´s arms...
***I am now 15, and as i write this I can´t hold my emotions back, she was so loving and gentle. I really wished we knew the full truth, rather what fell on her in my mom´s room or who kicked her...I still remember going to school and saying goodbye like for just the day because my mom never told me that Patches was going to be put down..I came home from school and she was gone...I never knew the struggles my mom had to face and now I appreciate it...every day she would feed Patches cat milk. I miss Patches so much...but now I know she´s in a better place where she is no longer suffering, Patches wherever you are, have fun and I´ll see you when I get there!
